The route: The long Cyclo Tour starts, like all tours, on the CHIO grounds. It goes to the north-west of Aachen, where the border to the Netherlands is passed before the route turns south. On beautiful roads through wooded areas, the course then leads over the Vaalserberg - at 322.5 m the highest natural elevation in the Netherlands and famous for the border triangle. The borders of the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium meet there, and the mountain is also famous for the Amstel Gold Race. From the Vaalserberg, the route heads back to Germany and from the south of Aachen, it crosses the border into Belgium in the direction of Raeren. This is followed by a scenically impressive loop into the Hertogenwald forest north of the Hautes Fagnes, before returning to the starting point on the German side in the east of Aachen.
Important: The nature of the event is not a competition, the road traffic regulations must be observed at all times. All types of bikes (incl. e-bikes) can be used on the cyclo tours.
